Lake Louise from the ski lift

Banff, AB – Lake Louise (part 2)

After our hike to the Tea House at Lake Agnes in Banff National Park we decided to ride the gondola at Lake Louise. (Note: there is another, more popular, gondola in the town of Banff.)

We were told from some of the locals that this gondola goes over a nature preserve and you can often see bears here. 🐻 This gondola was more expensive than we expected ($37 CAD/$28 USD/each) for a 7 min. ride to the top, however, the views were amazing at the summit.

We were given a choice of the enclosed gondola or open ski lift chair. Both run on the same track. We chose the open chair since the weather was nice and we didn’t want anything to obstruct our views.

We saw them! But I was too slow to catch a picture

At the top we walked over to the observation deck. Again, more crowds…but this time I was able to capture some of the wild life. 🤣

The only wild life I could capture🤣

After a short while we decided to ride back down. If you are afraid of heights then stick to the enclosed gondola. The views are beautiful but this made me a bit nervous 😬

Beautiful views everywhere you look.

Back at the bottom of the ride we saw some fun family games before heading back to the town of Banff.

Games the size of small children
The drive back.

We had a great time. The views were spectacular and we kept commenting that it didn’t look real…everything looked like a postcard. So glad we got to see it.

Up next, driving to Spokane for a couple of days with a friend.

Who does what here? Honestly, it’s really a good collaboration. We both decide where to go and plan the trip together. Once at our destination, Jeri takes most of the pictures and edits them for our website, though Joel has a much longer arm and is better at taking our selfies. Once the pictures are done then Jeri writes the posts and Joel edits them before they go live. Joel is also the IT guy when things go wrong (but what could possible go wrong when a computer is involved?)
