Before we even bought our RV we learned about a program called Harvest Hosts. What is Harvest Hosts? Their website says it best, “Harvest Hosts is a membership program that provides access to a network of wineries, farms, breweries, museums and other unique attractions that invite self-contained RVers to visit and stay overnight. For a yearly membership fee, Harvest Hosts’ members are invited to stay at hundreds of interesting locations around North America, and experience new opportunities to explore and enjoy the RVing lifestyle.”
So, when we bought our RV we also bought a membership to their program. We enjoyed our first stay about an hour after we crossed the border into New Mexico.
This winery was about an hour from the Arizona-New Mexico border and just a few miles off the freeway. It gave us a peaceful place to stay for the night for free, AND there was wine!! Bonus!!
Each location is a little different, and Covid has made things a bit stranger. At this winery we pulled in and parked near a couple of other RVs in the huge parking lot out front. To give you an idea of just how big – our RV is 25 feet long.
Once we parked, we put on our masks and went in to the tasting room to check in. We also wanted to taste their wines, of course. Currently, all tastings are done outside due to Covid. But, again, there was so much space that we felt really safe here.
After a yummy charcuterie board, a couple of flights of wine, and a quiet night we packed up and moved on. New Mexico is asking travelers who plan to stay to quarantine for 14 days, so we headed east out of the state.
Next stop, the Lone Star State of Texas!
Greetings to both of you,
The Harvest Host is truly a good and beneficial complement for RVers…..you will now reap the benefits as you embark on your adventures!
Have a lot of fun and good times in Texas!
Keep us posted.
Take care and be safe,
