This is Biloxi?

When I think of Biloxi, Mississippi, I think of Bubba Gump shrimp boats and swampy, humid places. I did not expect to find a peaceful horse farm in this town. However, that is exactly what we found when we booked a night at this Harvest Host farm (not all Harvest Host locations are wineries or breweries). We booked a night here on our way to see my parents. We were looking for someplace along the I-10 that was quiet, and we were so happy we were able to spend the night here.

This farm is only about two miles (3.2 km) from a large shopping area so on the way in we weren’t too sure about this place. But, once you turn the corner and drive on to the property you feel this sense of calm come over you. No traffic, no hustle and bustle, just an old-fashioned country road.

Mary, the owner of this farm, told us that she also rents out the farmhouse on Air BnB.

We arrived in time to help Mary feed the horses.

We saw four horses while here. They were all very friendly. We were able to pet them for a minute or two until they realized we didn’t have any treats for them.

We were the only RV staying here on this night. There were full hookups (yay!) and it was cool with this huge tree shading us. In the morning we woke up to a gentle rain tapping on the roof…one of our best nights of sleep on this leg of the trip.

As we left the farm we saw this flock of geese nearby. We will definitely stay here again when we come back this way.

Who does what here? Honestly, it’s really a good collaboration. We both decide where to go and plan the trip together. Once at our destination, Jeri takes most of the pictures and edits them for our website, though Joel has a much longer arm and is better at taking our selfies. Once the pictures are done then Jeri writes the posts and Joel edits them before they go live. Joel is also the IT guy when things go wrong (but what could possible go wrong when a computer is involved?)
