Custer’s Last Stand

We walked around Sheridan, WY’s cute little downtown in the morning. Stopped at the Cowboy Cafe for breakfast.

After a two-hour drive through rolling fields and beautiful yellow grasses, we arrived at Yellowtail Dam in the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area. It is similar to Hoover Dam in that it is hydroelectric. It was in a pretty area and, unlike the Hoover Dam, the reservoir behind it was full. Best part – we got another stamp in our Passport Book!!!

About an hour from the dam is Little Bighorn National Battlefield. If you go, watch the movie in the visitor center! It explains what happened and why. Here are the pictures of Custer’s Last Stand.

And from the Indian Monument near Custer’s Last Stand hill.

After spending time walking around the battlefield memorial and cemetery…

…we headed on to Billings, MT for the night.

Who does what here? Honestly, it’s really a good collaboration. We both decide where to go and plan the trip together. Once at our destination, Jeri takes most of the pictures and edits them for our website, though Joel has a much longer arm and is better at taking our selfies. Once the pictures are done then Jeri writes the posts and Joel edits them before they go live. Joel is also the IT guy when things go wrong (but what could possible go wrong when a computer is involved?)
