This tree is HUGE!

Redwood National Park, CA

Drive down highway 101 from Oregon into California and you will drive through some of the biggest trees on Earth. On a previous trip down the California coast we stopped to explore Redwood National Park and Humboldt Redwoods State Park. We were amazed by what we saw while driving through the Avenue of the Giants, a scenic byway that runs along the 101.

Looking up you feel so small

We drove through this tree!

While we didn’t explore the parks or drive the Avenue of the Giants this time, we still drove through some impressive trees on the highway. Look at how small the cars and large 18-wheel truck look next to these trees.

Definitely plan some extra time to hike and explore. Here’s one last picture.

Who does what here? Honestly, it’s really a good collaboration. We both decide where to go and plan the trip together. Once at our destination, Jeri takes most of the pictures and edits them for our website, though Joel has a much longer arm and is better at taking our selfies. Once the pictures are done then Jeri writes the posts and Joel edits them before they go live. Joel is also the IT guy when things go wrong (but what could possible go wrong when a computer is involved?)
