Spokane, WA

Once we left Banff, AB, we headed south back to the US. It was a full day of driving so we didn’t stop for any pictures except this one.

We met up with our friend Pat to enjoy a couple of days in Spokane, WA. After catching up on some much needed sleep we all agreed to head outside for some lunch and a short walk to stretch our legs.

After a short drive through town we stopped at the Riverside State Park.

Riverside State Park is Washington’s 2nd largest State Park. It is located about 9 miles northwest of Spokane. Pat told us she had been here years ago and remembered it being beautiful. Clearly, Pat has a great memory.

After Pat and Joel checked out a trail map we were on our way.

Pat told us the “Pitcher” is the rock formation and the “Bowl” comes from the water swirling in a bowl shape at the base.

One last picture before we call it a day.

Thanks for a great day Pat!

Who does what here? Honestly, it’s really a good collaboration. We both decide where to go and plan the trip together. Once at our destination, Jeri takes most of the pictures and edits them for our website, though Joel has a much longer arm and is better at taking our selfies. Once the pictures are done then Jeri writes the posts and Joel edits them before they go live. Joel is also the IT guy when things go wrong (but what could possible go wrong when a computer is involved?)
